As a Personal Trainer, I get the question on ways to get flat abs all the time. There is a reason why people ask this question. Getting a flat stomach is a desired goal by most people and it can be achieved by anyone if they have the right drive and action plan.

1) One of my favorite ways to get flat abs is to spike your metabolism. Spiking your metabolism increases your body’s abilities to burn fat faster. When you burn fat faster and more calories than you take in, you start to see you stomach fat go bye bye! What is a good way and how do you spike your metabolism?
Well, one of best ways you can spike your metabolism now, is to start eating less more often. What do I mean eat less more often? Start breaking down your meals into smaller meals and eating 5 to 6 times a day. This will keep your metabolism spiked and help you avoid over eating when it comes to lunch and dinner.
2) Stop wasting your time doing crunches and start incorporating multi-functional
exercises into your routine. What are multi-functional exercises? Multi-functional exercises use multiple muscle groups while performed. Start replacing your crunches with exercises like the dead lift, over-head squats, planks, clean and presses and wood choppers.
These exercises will spike your metabolic rate because you will be working several muscle groups at the same time, making your body work more efficiently. Instead of spending a ton of time isolating one muscle group, target the abs but work others at the same time. Incorporating these exercises are a great way to speed up that metabolism and make your workouts quicker and more effective.
3) Eat Fat! Yes, eating the right kind of fats is a great way to get flat abs. I do not mean
fast food, but I mean fats in the form of fatty acids, which are omega 3,6,9s. You can find these fats in fresh fish, avocados, nuts and in omega supplements like fish oil and flax see oils.
These fats are great for actually burning fat. These healthy fats help your body’s metabolism and are also jam packed with health benefits. Start getting more fatty acids into your diet and you will amazed at the difference in your energy levels and body’s ability to burn that stubborn belly fat.
